Alexandria, Virginia (December 2021) –– Edmond Scientific Company (ESC) was selected as part of a team to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with scientific, engineering and modeling research and development (R&D) support. The contract broadens Edmond Scientific’s efforts to expand its environmental engineering and chemical sciences efforts.

Work will involve developing and evaluating concepts, processes, and prototype systems through the various technology development lifecycle phases to include applied research and proofs of concept, laboratory-scale and bench-scale experiments, and pilot scale and prototype scale operations.

Support of the Field Operations Group will include field support to provide risk assessments, permit reviews, site characterization, site preparation, and green Infrastructure technology fielding.

Modeling efforts will include development of computer-oriented tools, approaches, and technologies such as software, models, decision-support tools, and architectures to support big data modeling and distribution.

The effort also requires providing technical support to various EPA programs including the Superfund Program, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Program for lifecycle treatment of hazardous wastes, and the Office of Water (OW) for research projects involving oceans, watersheds, and aquatic ecosystems.
